About City Kidz Regina
Regina, home to the RCMP training depot and Canada’s favourite CFL team, the Saskatchewan Roughriders, is Saskatchewan’s capital city. Regina has a large percentage of its overall area devoted to parks and green spaces, with biking paths and other recreational facilities throughout the city. Centrally located, the Wascana Centre is one of North America’s largest urban parks, and offers many activities such as picnic spots, playgrounds, bike paths, or just relaxing under a big oak tree.

Regina is a cultural and commercial hub for both southern Saskatchewan and adjacent areas. Oil and natural gas, potash, kaolin, sodium sulphite and bentonite contribute a great part of Regina and area’s economy. Although farming and agricultural is still a significant part of the economy it is no longer the major driver of the economy, seeing an increase in production of natural resources.
The last few years Regina has experienced an economic boom, increased housing markets and increased job market. But the economic boom is not positive for everyone. With the boom comes increased rental rates, and housing shortages. This affects the low-income neighborhoods – mostly North Central and the Core. These neighborhoods are made up of mostly First Nation Families with low education skills. Over 21% of Regina households live in poverty conditions.
In 2007 Maclean’s Magazine marked North Central Regina as one of the poorest spots in Canada. For nine out of ten years Regina has been marked as Canada’s Crime capital . For the past eight years, the Just Kidding Children’s Bus Ministry has been impacting the children of North Central providing them Faith, Hope and Love by taking children to various parks and doing games, skits, and lunches all in a Faith-based environment.

Just Kidding Bus Ministry has now partnered with City Kidz Ministry from Hamilton, Ontario and will be expanding the outreach of their ministry. City Kidz Regina will still be providing Faith, Hope, and Love to these children in a new, larger, and exciting format. Rather than a park setting, the program focuses on high-energy program from one location. City Kidz provides transportation from the child’s home to the City Kidz Playhouse Theatre located at 1209 Winnipeg Street, and back home again. The program includes worship, drama, games, memory moments, and lunches for the children. City Kidz Regina does not stop at the children, weekly house visits are done to each home. This is an opportunity to get to meet the parents and let them know more about who we are and what is happening on Saturday afternoons.
The vision of City Kidz Regina is to provide Faith, Hope, and Love to as many children as possible by reaching all areas of the city. Our goal is to reach 600 children by year 2015.
City Kidz Regina needs your support to be a success and reach out to the children in your city. Together we can provide Love, Hope, and Faith to the children of Regina and remove the poverty line within our city. Are you up to this exciting challenge?
Let’s remove the mark Maclean’s has left on our North Central Community one child at a time. By instilling positive values into these children’s lives we can help inspire them to fulfill the dreams God has placed in their lives and in the end the can help impact the lives of their friends and families.

Child Sponsorship:
For only $27.50 a month you will make it possible for a child to receive a weekly home visit from one of our dedicated volunteers, get on the bus, to and from the City Kidz program, participate in the Saturday experience and receive a snack on the bus and a nutritional lunch before going home.
Corporate Sponsorship:
The City Kidz Corporate Partnership program represents the opportunity for businesses and corporations to work together with City Kidz to effectively deliver the programs and initiatives to children living in Regina’s worst neighborhoods, “The Hood”, Core, and others. Businesses are waiting to ‘give back’ to the community and have fun at the same time. City Kidz-Regina is exactly that, giving to the community, by teaching children to rise above their circumstances and have fun while doing so. Give us a call and see what is available. You can become one of our corporate level sponsors; help provide volunteers and gifts-in-kinds for special events, or partner with City Kidz-Regina in creating a fundraising event.
