It’s a Miracle!

On February 15th, 2009, 40 Churches came together and believed for a miracle! In closing our campaign, together they raised $53,000, sponsored 24 children from the inner city, and recruited 17 new volunteers! This miracle planted seeds of hope that have flourished into an amazing harvest of 200 more children. A total of 1600 children are now being impacted each week, surpassing our 2009 Miracle Goal of 1500!

Rev. Greg Dickson from New Westminster Presbyterian Church says, ” I believe God has provided an important and good opportunity for people to meet Him through CityKidz, which in partnership with Christian churches, offers a unified – and uniting – way to reach the people of Hamilton for Christ. On Miracle Sunday, we chose to become a church partner with CityKidz to further build the Kingdom in our city as we wait on what God still has in store for the days and years ahead. Greater things have yet to come in our city!”

February 14th, 2010, has now been declared as the next Miracle Sunday! This time we are extending our faith to believe for sixty churches to partner with us. It would truly be a miracle if together we could extend our reach to 400 more children!

Founder and Executive Director, Rev. Todd Bender says, “The reality is, that many people – especially young children – are ‘lost’ right here in Hamilton, and City Kidz is excited to share it’s life- changing mission work with area churches.”

Many churches are looking for new ways to help members nurture a servant’s heart and find renewed energy and focus for mission. The challenge and effort to start something from scratch is great. City Kidz knows this and knows how great the needs are in our inner city. So, having already planted the seeds and started the work, we are inviting area churches to partner with us, in this important, local mission field.

Fund Development Coordinator, Susan Lamont continues, “ We believe that God is using City Kidz as a catalyst to unite churches, for God’s purpose; to bring God’s message of hope to our city, and God’s unconditional love to all the people in it.”

City Kidz along with our partners CTS, Wishart and The Beacon, are excited about the vision we have for developing a long- term relationship with the churches in our local and surrounding area. For over 15 years City Kidz has been serving the children and their families of Hamilton’s inner city. We are in this for the long haul. As long as one child needs to know that God loves them and has a plan and purpose for their life, that they matter, and they are not a mistake; we will be here. We hope you will be too!
