Why we exist: To transform the lives of inner city children, break the cycle of hopelessness, and end child poverty.
What we do: Within each of our core impact programs and projects, we work hard to:
- Inspire children to dream big, and to rise above their circumstances
- Instill faith based values and teach children to do the right thing
- Provide new experiences and environments that inspire kids to unlimited possibilities
- Provide positive role models that build relationships with every child
- Build hope by celebrating the special days in a child’s life such as Christmas and birthdays
- Remove barriers by providing door to door transportation to all activities
- Empower youth to be role models and provide opportunities to lead
Our Dream: Our dream is to impact 5000 children each week in Hamilton by the year 2013. Our dream is to extend our reach coast to coast and establish a City Kidz™ branch or affiliate in cities found in each of Canada’s 10 provinces and 3 territories, impacting 1,000,000 children across the country.
To this we commit ourselves, to search unceasingly for the child who needs to know that someone cares, the child who needs to know they have a place in this world, that they matter, and that someone believes in them.
Some of the things we value most:
Purpose: At City Kidz we love God and we love children, and because we love God and because we love children, we will do all we can to search for each child that needs to know that they are loved, that they matter, and that God has a plan for their lives.
Relationship: While programs can be effective at teaching truth, those truths must be role-modeled. The true success of City Kidz™ is derived from our strong relationships within our community. Whether it be with our children and their families, our volunteers and staff, or our investors, having strong relationships is a priority in all we do.
Commitment: “We’re here for the long haul.” We believe that in order to make a significant impact in the life of a child we need to be committed to being a part of their lives. We understand worthwhile endeavors take time, and we have committed ourselves to the process, as long as it takes.
Integrity: “Do what we say, and say what we do.” We believe it is important to live our lives according to our beliefs and to always do what’s right. All activities and functions of City Kidz™ are implemented with the highest standards of excellence, whether implementing a program or answering the phone. “If it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing well!”
Responsibility: Each child, as well as their parents and families, have extended their trust to us, and with that trust comes great responsibility. Our highest priority has been and will always be, to first ensure the safety and well being of all children entrusted to our care. Our sense of responsibility extends to all aspects of the organization. We will follow through with each of our commitments, big or small, and do our best to fulfill each of our responsibilities to the highest standards.
Equality: We believe all people are created equal in the sight God. We will show love to all people and we will not judge based on race, creed, religion or economic status.
Attitude: “Our attitude determines our altitude”. We believe a positive attitude is simply the reflection of our core values and therefore, we expect everyone in every aspect of the organization to always keep a positive attitude throughout all circumstances.
Accountability: We believe it’s important to be accountable for all our actions; to God, to our children, volunteers, employees, and investors. At City Kidz™, clearly defined checks and balances are in place to ensure the organization is operating to the highest standards of excellence.
