Home Visits

City Kidz® home visits is all about the one.  Home Visits provide us the opportunity to get to know each and every child who attends the Saturday program on a personal, individual level.

Each Home Visit area is a group of neighborhoods, geographically split with a team of volunteers overseeing each area.  In essence these teams become the pastors, mentors and teachers for the children and families in their neighborhood.

Typically each team consists of a Team Captain, Co-Captain, 2 team members, and 2 Jr. leaders. Collectively they oversee approximately 50 – 90 children.  A home visit consists of two members conducting a short visit to each child’s home, connecting with the families and informing them of the up-coming City Kidz® Saturdays program.

Visiting children in their homes also provides an opportunity for us to build relationships with children and their families, to role model the truths and beliefs we teach and to truly show the families we care.  When opportunities permit we are able to assist with needs children or their families may have, whether physical, emotional, mental or spiritual.  The combination of the Saturday program and personal home visits by the same loving volunteers each week is what builds strong foundations into the lives of each child.

Commitment and consistency is the price each City Kidz® worker pays to impact a child’s life.  In essence we believe that building strong relationships with our children and families is the key element in the long term success of City Kidz®.  Many of our core volunteer base consists of children who previously attended on Saturdays and received a home visit weekly.
