Jr. Leadership

The Jr. Leadership Program is designed to both mentor and train adolescents to serve as leaders within City Kidz™. The Jr. Leadership Program mostly consists of former City Kidz Saturday participants who have reached the age of 12 and have made a commitment to give back to their community and City Kidz by becoming a Jr. Leader.
Each Jr. Leader is assigned to a City Kidz™ team, under the direction of a team captain. Once assigned they will serve and be mentored by the Team Captain and their Team Members. During the Saturday season, weekly Jr. Leadership Training sessions are held and each Jr. Leader is required to attend all sessions to develop and learn important life lessons from the following core principles: faith, leadership and lifestyle. To become a Jr. Leader, youth (ages 12 – 15) must exhibit a basic level of maturity, be referred by a team captain and complete the Jr. Leadership application process.
Presently Jr. Leaders and graduates make up for approximately 45% of our existing volunteer base. Each youth must formally apply to be a part of the Jr. Leadership Program. Often registrations reach capacity and at times we may have a waiting list of youth who are eager to be trained as leaders and serve as a volunteer of City Kidz™.
Unfortunately due to limited resources and the intensity of the program we are only able to accommodate 60 Jr. Leaders per season. We are excited about the potential of the Jr. Leadership Program and we hope to be able to accommodate more Jr. Leaders in the years to come.
