CityKidz is growing: Introducing Laura Carmichael, Associate Executive Director

Please join us in congratulating Laura Carmichael on her new position as Associate Executive Director of CityKidz! We are pleased to announce this exciting, new position. After nearly 3 years as CityKidz’ Manager of Volunteer Development, Laura has accepted the position of Associate Executive Director (AED).

“I am honoured to be stepping into the role of Associate Executive Director at CityKidz. I am inspired by the heart of this organization, and thankful for the opportunity to contribute in deeper ways.  I look forward to partnering together with Todd as we continue to move the mission forward, and see lives impacted.”- Laura Carmichael, Associate Executive Director

Laura is a graduate of Trinity Western University and holds a BA in Social Sciences as well as a certificate in Human Services. Her first involvement with CityKidz began as a volunteer. It wasn’t long after that, she knew that it was a community she wanted to be part of. With extensive experience in Community Development and Student Affairs, she was a perfect fit for CityKidz.

In 2016, Laura stepped up to the challenge of becoming more hands on in both the operations and programming components of the organization, while continuing to lead the volunteer department. Laura has a deep love for the mission and a growing desire to see CityKidz flourish. She brings great insight, strong decision making skills and the qualities of a dynamic leader to this role.

“I couldn’t be more thrilled that Laura will be assuming the role of Associate Executive Director. Laura’s new role as the AED was a natural next step and will help ensure the sustainability of our programming as well as provide much needed support for the future growth of CityKidz.” – Rev. Todd Bender, Executive Director

While Rev. Todd Bender, Founder and Executive Director (ED), will continue to lead the vision of CityKidz, the AED will help oversee the daily operations. This will allow the ED to focus on the development of the CityKidz programs and resources, as well as providing strategic direction in conjunction with the Board of Directors.

You can reach Laura at the CityKidz office at 601 Burlington St. E, Unit A, Hamilton, ON L8L 4J5 or by phone or email: 905-544-3996 Extension 212 |
