Hey everyone! Check out this amazing #frontlinefriend of ours!
Shehribane recently graduated from the Mohawk McMaster Institute for Applied Health Sciences and is working in her field as a Registered Practical Nurse on the frontlines of the pandemic at a Hamilton nursing home.
We’ve known the lovely Shehribane since she started attending CityKidz as a child, shortly after arriving in Canada with her family from Kosovo. Staff and volunteers consistently remember her as a bright, happy and enthusiastic kid through all her years as a program participant and later as a kind, intuitive and generous youth volunteer.
Shehribane was among the first CityKidz participants to receive the Weston Family Scholarship to support her post-secondary education.
Despite her rigorous school and work schedules, Shehribane has consistently given back to her community as a reliable CityKidz volunteer. On Saturdays, she helps out wherever she is needed and greets every task and every child with a smile, patience and open heart.
Ever humble, Shehribane says, “I would not be able to work as a nurse if it was not for the Education Fund. Not only had they given me funds to help me continue my education but they gave me so much inspiration. CityKidz gave me the strengths I needed and the push I never knew I needed. It was a great feeling knowing people cared about me and seeing me achieve my goals. I will forever be grateful to all of you and thankful for being there as I made my dreams come true.”
Thank you, Shehribane! You are an incredible servant of love in this world and an inspiration to us all.
