Overview:
The Bus Driver is responsible for supporting the implementation of CityKidz programs by safely transporting participants, volunteers and staff to and from CityKidz programs.

Responsibilities:

1. Preparation 

  • Prepare for trip by researching the route and being knowledgeable of any closures
  • Complete a circle check prior to the bus departing 
  • Communicate any concerns to the Coordinator of Operations or designated site leader

2. Transportation 

  • Adhere to all laws and CityKidz policies while operating the bus 
  • Communicate with the Bus Leader regarding any concerns in the route, activity on the bus, or operation of the bus 

3. End of Trip 

  • Complete end of trip paperwork and leave in the bus binder 
  • Ensure the bus is properly cleaned and sanitized 
  • Ensure bus is parked with the battery secure

4. Other responsibilities as assigned 

Qualifications: 

 The Bus Driver should know:  

  • the values of CityKidz
  • the policies and procedures of CityKidz
  • the details for CityKidz Programs

The Bus Driver should be able to: 

  • maintain control of the CityKidz bus 
  • adhere to all traffic laws 
  • complete a circle check and the required paperwork 
  • communicate with bus team members regarding timing, changing circumstances and concerns with the bus 
  • adapt to meet the needs of the CityKidz Saturday Programs

The Bus Driver must have:  

  • Current Vulnerable Sector Police Check
  • Valid Class B or C Driver’s License  
  • Previous experience with CityKidz routes preferred

Profile:
The CityYouth Program Administrative Assistant is a seasonal part-time contract position, reporting to the Associate Director and is responsible to oversee all program administration, communication and logistics during the Wednesday evening CityYouth Program. They play the role of the host and provide valuable information and guidance that helps the program run smoothly. In addition to Wednesday Command Centre, they support the Coordinator of Youth Programs by providing assistance with some weekday administrative tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage the Command Centre (administration, logistics and communication desk) for Wednesday night youth programs
  • Assist with the creation and updating of youth programming bus routes
  • Assist with CityYouth communication (eg. Emails, phone calls, Instagram)
  • Assist with the preparation of youth program spaces
  • Assist with the preparation of youth program resources
  • Assist with processing CityYouth registration forms
  • Record CityYouth attendance
  • Assist with CityYouth office tasks (eg. Photocopying, mailings, data management)


Qualifications and Demonstrated Skills:

  • Comfortable working in a faith-based organization

  • Compile all administrative components. 
  • Intake, data entry and phone calls. 
  • Set up and organize the Toy Store for receiving, sorting, and distributing gifts. 
  • Keep accurate records of gift inventory. 
  • Organize toys according to age, gender and specialized items as directed for the gift selection process. 
  • Greet and train volunteers in their toy store duties; assist with organizing volunteers. 
  • Assist with receiving toys from donors. 
  • Assist with volunteers and staff in gift selection, wrapping, and processing. 
  • Assist with gift distribution to community partners as per CityKidz policy and procedures. 
  • Ensure Toy Store is cleaned and organized after each day of activity (restocking items as needed). 
  • Assist with preparing toys for distribution to children. 
  • Assist with post season inventory and toy organization for use during the year. 
  • Assist with post season clean up and tear down of Toy Store. 


Qualifications and Demonstrated Skills:

Overview:
Reporting to the Marketing & Communications Manager, the Community Fundraising Specialist will generate funds and in-kind donations through third-party fundraisers, seasonal fundraising campaigns and events.

Purpose:
This position will lead CityKidz’ community fundraising strategy, engaging community groups, churches, employee groups, service clubs and individuals who are supporting CityKidz through events, grants and seasonal campaigns. This is a donor-centric position and is best suited for someone who enjoys working with diverse groups of people. In addition, the Community Fundraising Specialist will play a lead role in coordinating in-house events, such as supporter recognition events, fundraising events and tours and will attend community events to represent CityKidz.

Responsibilities:

Administrative:

  • Produce and maintain tracking reports for each giving program which accurately reflect activity and performance
  • Regularly update donor engagement plan, record touches, moves and interactions in database and engage in annual caseload renewal process with Fund Development team
  • Regularly review fundraising tool kit assets and work with the Marketing & Communications team to make necessary updates


Third Party Fundraising:

  • Steward existing caseload of fundraisers by providing regular communications, impact updates, thank supporters and attend events, cheque pick ups & lead tours
  • Seek out funding opportunities with local organizations and submit grant applications
  • Follow through with funder requirements, including, but not limited to: attending meetings, reporting back & soliciting event prizes
  • Ensure fundraisers adhere to CityKidz Third Party Fundraising Policies by connecting with organizers to provide fundraising tool kit, brochures, and logos
  • Solicit and close gifts from donors by updating, appreciating, and asking donors to deepen their financial partnership.


Community Events:

  • Represent CityKidz at community networking and fundraising events to increase brand awareness and connect with prospective supporters
  • Take photographs, seek out interviews and support the development of fundraiser stories for marketing publications


Seasonal Campaigns:

  • Support CityKidz annual Gift of Christmas campaign by working with third-party fundraisers, and Gift of Christmas toy drive organizers to meet financial and in-kind revenue targets.
  • Attend Gift of Christmas Committee meetings to provide updates on behalf of the Resource Development Team 
  • Implement the annual Miracle Sunday church giving campaign, connecting with church partners to provide information about CityKidz, and resources and attend speaking engagements as needed.
  • Solicit and close gifts from donors by updating, appreciating, and asking donors to deepen their financial partnership


Social Media:

  • Advise the Content Coordinator of content needs related to community fundraising.
  • Answer questions arising through social media comments and direct messages
  • Respond to tags and mentions from community supporters.
  • Create live social media content from events


Other

  • Develop a firm understanding of CityKidz’ programs and build relationships with program participants, parents, program staff and volunteers through occasional participation in front line programming


Qualifications and Demonstrated Skills:

  • Comfortable working in a faith-based organization
  • Completion of a CFRE-accredited fundraising course or equivalent work experience
  • Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation an asset, but not required
  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant college diploma preferred
  • At least one year of fundraising work or transferrable experience
  • Valid Class G Driver’s License and access to own vehicle
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • People-oriented
  • Strong phone skills – warm tone, good speaking cadence, clear and articulate speech
  • Comfortable engaging with the public, giving tours, public speaking, and attending community events
  • Demonstrated team player with a donor-centered attitude and a high level of integrity.
