CityKidz is hiring for a parental leave coverage starting January 2024 for 15 months with the potential of extension. Position Overview:

Reporting to the Manager of Programs, the Coordinator of Youth Programs is responsible for the design, delivery, and evaluation of all youth programs and, for achieving the youth program objectives of the CityKidz Program Model and the goals of each youth program activity.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Program Design, Delivery and Evaluation
  • Experience developing curriculum that aligns with organizational logic model outcomes
  • Ability to manage multiple projects to implement youth programming
  • Comfortable analyzing, responding to and mitigating risk
  • Ensure that all program policies and procedures are followed
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and improve logistics, resources and schedules to implement programming
  • Oversee and enhance the training and performance of staff and volunteers assigned to youth programs

Administration

  • Experience working in database, tracking metrics and providing reports
  • Ability to coordinate recruitment and registration of participants
  • Comfortable working in Microsoft Office, Database Software, Teams, Canva
  • Organized, detail oriented and able to prioritize work
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and within a team
  • Ability to monitor expenses within the approved budget

Communication

  • Ability to communicate with diverse populations
  • Comfortable making telephone calls to volunteers and youth
  • Experienced presenter with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to facilitate dynamic and engaging youth events
  • Ability to make positive connections and relationships with youth program stakeholders

 

Qualifications and Demonstrated Skills:

  • Comfortable working in a faith-based organization
  • Demonstrated team player with a high level of integrity
  • Commitment to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment
  • Bachelor Degree in job related field, such as education, social work, or recreation
  • Three years or more of youth program coordination and supervision experience
  • Effective program administration skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software
  • Excellent organization, task, and project management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Strong problem solving, training, and personal management skills.
  • Must have initiative and the ability to follow through with little direct supervision
  • Ability to make positive connections and relationships with youth and volunteers.
  • Ability to facilitate dynamic and engaging youth events
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teams, staff, and volunteers
  • Willing to work Wednesday evenings (26 per year) and Saturdays (12-16 per year)
  • Strong passion for the mission of CityKidz.
  • Valid G Class driver’s license and access to own vehicle

 

Employment Type:

Full Time, Contract Position.

CityKidz is seeking an organized and professional Toy Store Assistant to support the Gift of Christmas program. The ideal candidate can work efficiently in fast-paced environment. They are well organized, a team player and self-motivated.

Position Overview:  

Reporting to the Manager of Programs and subsequent Toy Store Coordinators, the Toy Store Assistant supports all tasks in the Toy Store for our Gift of Christmas program. The Toy Store Assistant ensures the tasks to run the Toy Store are complete with excellence.

Responsibilities:  

1. Administration

  • Keep accurate records of gift inventory.

2. Toy Store Setup and Tear down

  • Set up and organize the Toy Store for receiving sorting and distribution of gifts.

  • Move large bags (up to 25 pounds) of toys from storage to store area during setup week.

  • Organize toys according to age, gender and specialized items as directed for gift selection process.

  • Complete end of season wrap up

  • Post season inventory and organization

  • Move large bags (up to 25 pounds) of toys back to storage

  • Full clean and storage of all supplies

3. Toy Store Support

  • Assist with receiving toys from donors.

  • Assist with volunteers and staff in the gift selection, wrapping, and processing.

  • Assist with preparing toys for distribution to children.

  • Assist with gift distribution to community partners as per CityKidz policy and procedures.

  • Ensure Toy Store is cleaned and organized after each day of activity (restocking items as needed).

 Qualifications and Demonstrated Skills:  

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Superb interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively on a team of various departments, teams, volunteers and donors.

  • Ability to interact with volunteers and donors in a professional manner representing CityKidz well.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced demanding environment.

  • Ability to work Monday – Friday with various shifts including evening hours.

  • Comfortable working on their feet for many hours of the day.

  • Comfortable lifting large bags of toys (up to 25 pounds).
