Open Positions
In Hamilton, more than 1 in 5 children live in poverty. For generations, poverty has stolen dreams and destroyed futures. At CityKidz, we think it’s time to change that, and we’re recruiting a dynamic frontline team of Camp CityKidz Summer Assistants who will work with us to help kids dream big dreams and reach their full potential. The ideal candidate has a passion to work with kids, a love for creating inspirational experiences, and a desire to make a difference in the lives of children living in low-income communities.
This is a contract position from mid June to mid August.
- Summer to Remember
- Assist with summer program preparation (digital assets, activity preparation, space readiness)
- Assist with live program elements including songs, skits and games
- Assist with promotion and enrollment of participants
- Assist with daily administration tasks (attendance, incident reports etc.)
- Provide program leadership and participant supervision on buses and during programs.
- Provide support to program evaluation and follow up
- CityKidz Online
- Assist with the creation of digital media (eg. Production planning, graphics, on camera presence, etc.)
- Assist with mobile filming units that feature children
- Teamwork and Program Support
- Attend and participate in team and organizational meetings
- Support Community programs, as directed by Coordinator
- Organize and maintain team spaces and equipment
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Demonstrated Skills:
- Comfortable working in a faith-based organization
- Demonstrated team player with a high level of integrity
- Commitment to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment
- Experience working with children
- Ability to follow direction
- Effective program administration skills
- Familiar with Microsoft Office software
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to make positive connections and relationships with children
- Ability to engage and entertain children
- Willing to work some evenings
- Willing to promote the mission of CityKidz
- Valid G class license and access to transportation is a strong asset
