Hamilton Toy Drive
Thanks to the generosity of the greater Hamilton community, we were able to bring Christmas to over 4,300 children last year! Additionally, gifts that arrived after the close of our toy drive, were used to provide birthday presents for children throughout the year. This year, we have once again identified 4,000 children in need, and have set a goal to provide all of them with the gift of Christmas. Please join us!
CityKidz accepts new, unwrapped gifts for boys and girls from 0 to 12 years of age. Each year, children submit wish lists with the toys they would most like to receive. We’ve included a copy of their most popular requests in a toy wish list to help guide you in your giving. You can download a copy of the wish list.

We receive the fewest toy donations for kids ages 10 to 12.
Please consider donating a new, unwrapped gift for them this Christmas season!
We encourage you to donate and drop off your toy donations as soon as possible. This will help give our staff and volunteers the time needed to select, wrap, and deliver the perfect gift to the boys and girls in our community. Our toy drive will close on December 20th to ensure all Christmas gifts can be delivered on time.

About the Gift of Christmas
This year’s Gift of Christmas toy drive launches on Monday, November 12th and closes Thursday, December 20th. With your help, Christmas will be merry and bright for thousands of girls and boys!
At CityKidz, the Gift of Christmas is faith, hope, and love, packaged and wrapped for each child and family, expressed through thoughtful presents and a Christmas celebration. For our kids and families, it’s a reminder, at a time of year when many need it most, that they are not forgotten, that they are loved and that they can be hopeful.
The Gift of Christmas is:
- The greater Hamilton community donating thousands of gifts for children in need.
- Children gathering for a hot meal and an interactive Christmas party with friends.
- Hundreds of volunteers sorting through toys for a personalized gift that will be perfect for each child.
- Volunteers delivering their hand-selected gifts to each child’s door, days before Christmas.
- A smile on a child’s face who knows they are loved and that someone thought of them during one of the most important days of a child’s year.

Where can I drop off a toy?
You can drop off a toy at any of our official Gift of Christmas Toy Drive drop-off locations: Greater Hamilton Canadian Tire, KX947, and Hamilton Police Service locations.
What kind of toys do you accept?
CityKidz accepts new unwrapped gifts for boys and girls from 0 to 12 years of age.

Do you accept clothes and/or food donations?
Where can I drop off a large quantity of toy donations?
You can drop off large donations at our offices located at 601 Burlington St E, Unit A, Hamilton, ON, L8L 4J5 (View Map). Please phone ahead to make arrangements at 905-544-3996 Ext 241.
Please enter park in the east parking lot and drive towards the back of the building. All toys can be taken in through the Red Door on the North East corner of the building.

Can I sponsor a specific family through CityKidz?
In an effort to ensure fair distribution of Christmas gifts and opportunities to families throughout the community, we are unable to offer specific family sponsorships.
How can I make a monetary donation offline?
There are two ways you can make a monetary donation offline:

Can I host my own toy drive or fundraiser?
If you would like to host your own toy drive on behalf of CityKidz, please email email@example.com and we’ll do our best to answer all your questions and get you all set up!
How can I volunteer?
When I donate, can I get a tax receipt? Is that only for monetary donations, or do gifts count as well?
We can provide tax receipts for all donations $10 and over as long as your provide your full contact information and original proof of purchase.
If you wish to donate an item, you may also receive a tax receipt, however we required the original proof of purchase for the item (receipt of purchase). Unfortunately, we are not able to offer tax receipts for toy donations made at our drop-off locations. We are only able to offer tax receipts for toy donations made directly at CityKidz.
